TRIVIEW COMMUNICATIONS HISTORY

Triview Communications was founded by Rich and Diane Zanter in Sergeant Bluff, IA in April of 1991. Rich had worked for Northwestern Bell, and then AT&T after its breakup, since 1970 and earlier in 1991 had been flown to its headquarters in Illinois to receive an award for his expert technical skills in the tri-state area. Weeks after the award ceremony, in early April, he was approached by AT&T and told they were planning to close the doors on the small business shop in Sioux City and lay off the staff.  AT&T requested that Rich become their contractor. So on Monday, April 29, 1991 Rich worked his last day for AT&T and the next day Tuesday, April 30 he worked his first day for them as an independent contractor. 

Over the next few months his wife, Diane quit her nursing job and worked full time with Rich.  Our three kids, (all under the age of 18) Darcy, Ryan and Lee were all expected to work with us when they were available, and we needed help.  

In the spring of 1996 we decided that the 7×10 foot office in our basement was just too small for the growing business. So we purchased land and hired Morton Buildings to erect a 60×140 foot building at 203 Sergeant Square Drive in Sergeant Bluff.  

In late 1996 AT&T sold their business phone system branch to a new company called Lucent Technologies and Lucent was going to allow Rich to sell equipment. But he could not under the Triview name. So on February 5, 1997 we created a dba named Quality Telecommunications to sell equipment.  

Ryan was the first of the kids to join the family business.  He graduated from Iowa State with a degree in business and came to work for us in April 2000.  Lee decided he wanted to join the family business while still in grade school and did so after some time at college.  He came to work in March 2004.  Darcy was quite sure she did not want to work in the family business but the good Lord had other ideas and in January 2009 she and Rich made a deal that she would come and work for us one month and during that month she could also look for a different job.  She never left. 

In August 2020 the company opened up a second location in Sioux Falls to better serve their clientele in that area. We keep growing and getting new business by staying true to our values. Faith, Family, and integrity has taken us far in our business and we will continue to strive to live up to those expectations.
